The Buran Ghati trek is one of the few treks in India that could be enjoyed in summers as well, without worrying of getting tanned or sunburned. As I previously said, the Buran Ghati trek has a lot to offer, during this trek you can plan a trip to Barua village in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. This is an old vintage village replete with nature and a scarce population. You will adore the rich ethnic tradition and culture of this village.
The Buran pass tends to transcend its position quite often, which is unbelievably magical. Another major highlight of this trek is the angelic Chandernahan lake, the source of the Pabbar River. The Buran Ghati trek is incomplete without visiting the Chandernahan lake. Trivia: Did you know that the Chandernahan lake is a lake fully formed out of melted snow? Imagine a soothing calm lake with a magical landscape surrounding it! The legend goes that the Chandernahan is a lake poured by the gods themselves. You would surely want to spend some time in solitude nearby this lake.
There are times when you feel lost and redundant, this is the sign that you need to take a pause and not give up. So take a pause, spend some time with nature, and plan a solo trek, you will surely find a way. The mountains and lakes in the Buran pass will be the best place to relieve and reflect. It is best to avoid this trek during freezing, extremely cold winters since the snowfall at this time is not trekking friendly.
So it is advised to not to take the Buran Ghati trek during December. Nevertheless, the trek can be done in May and June; September and October. The basecamp of the trek is located at a village called Janglik, which is ten hours away from Shimla. Don’t worry about long hours, think about the beautiful unseen flora and fauna; long roads covered with trees! Book your trek now!
