Here are two quick and easy trek recommendations for you — The Tarsar Marsar trek and the Har Ki Doon trek.
Everybody dreams of visiting the jewel of India — Kashmir, at least once in a lifetime. To enjoy the snow, serene lakes, forests, and the gardens full of tulip flowers. But have you ever tried trekking in Kashmir? No? What are you waiting for? And even if you have been trekking in Kashmir, I know your heart is in Kashmir and you can’t wait to go back. The Tarsar Marsar trek in Kashmir is a seven-day rejuvenating trek that will certainly bring you back to life. This trek is located at an altitude of 13,200 which means it is moderately easy for beginners. The base camp is situated in Aru, Kashmir. The minimum age to do this trek is 10 years of age, meaning even children can accompany you during this trek.
The Tarsar Marsar is gifted with three serene lakes namely the Tarsar, Marsar, and Sundarsr which adds to the beauty of this trail. In addition to the beautiful calm lakes, you will also come across high elevated pastures and large meadows. No wonder why people call Kashmir a Heaven on Earth. Imagine yourself, sitting with your friends on a campsite just beside the beautiful lakes of Kashmir with a bonfire, gazing at the mysterious sky full of stars. The villages of Kashmir are full of aesthetics. If you plan the Tarsar Marsar trek in July or August then (which is also the best time to visit) you’ll be awestruck at the floral blooms and colours during this time. During summer from May to June the snow carpet completely melts and the flowers, full of colours pop up. The temperature at Tarsar Marsar ranges from 17 to 20 degrees Celsius during the day and 3 to 8 degrees at night. The trek begins at a drive starting from Srinagar to our base camp in Aru. After an overnight stay at Aru, we begin with a climb from Aru to Lidderwat. From Lidderwat the journey goes along the alpine Ladder river. Gradually we’ll cover the beautiful forests of fir and pine. As we go trekking, we’ll reach another camp beside Sundarsar Lake, camping overnight. Now the journey from Sundarsar takes a turn towards Marsar. Marsar offers you views of stunning cloudy skies. Soon from Marsar, we’ll descend back to Sundarsar camp. I know how irresistible you are to do this, don’t wait, book your trek now!
