You can begin the brahmatal trek from Rishikesh since it is well connected with various means of transport and can be reached in a seamlessly easy manner. On the first day of the Brahmatal Trek, you will travel to Lohajung that lies 250 km away from Rishikesh. It will take roughly 10 hours for you to cover this distance and reach Lohajung at 7,662 ft.
From Lohajung, you will have to begin climbing uphill towards the serene and enchanting Bekaltal perched at an altitude of 9,690 ft. Bekaltal lies at a distance of approximately 6 km and can be reached in nearly 4–5 hours of steady trekking. You will first walk past the mandoli village to reach the confluence of Kali and Pindari Rivers, and then cross a few streams to eventually reach the gorgeous Bekaltal.
After decent climbs for the past two days, you will finally witness some steep ascents on the third day as you walk away from Bekaltal towards the gleaming and surreal Brahmatal. Brahmatal lies at a distance of 7 km from Bekaltal at an altitude of 10,450 ft. Cradled by the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, the Brahmatal appears exceptionally fascinating as it remains beautifully snuggled in the dips of the bugyals. It calmly reflects the surrounding landscapes and makes the frame even more mesmerizing. You will be able to view the Shivalik Range as well as the Greater Himalayas from Brahmatal. The Brahmatal camp, however, remains 500m away from the lake. After relishing the exotic scenery, you will have to return to the camp for the night stay.
